Million Dollar Spaghetti
A few days after my second child, Sullivan, was born, a family from my church stopped by our house and dropped off a hot casserole dish.
They did not come inside. They did not stay to visit. They simply dropped off a hot meal.
We were exhausted and the kind gesture was exactly what we needed at that moment. I cannot express how appreciative we were and it reminded me again that this was one of the things I loved about small towns.
The hot casserole dish that they dropped by was something that I have been making ever since that very day and my family has named it Million Dollar Spaghetti.

2 24 oz. jars of spaghetti sauce
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
½ medium onion chopped
2 small garlic cloves, grated or minced
1/2 tsp sea salt, more to taste
½ tsp freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 lb ground beef
1 lb Italian sausage
2 cups shredded mozzarella
1 cup shredded parmesan
1 16oz. box of angel hair pasta
1 8oz. block of cream cheese
Instructions:
Heat olive oil in a large saute pan on medium heat.
Saute ground beef and Italian sausage in pan on medium heat with garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and chopped onion until browned.
Cook pasta according to box instructions and drain and return to the pot.
Once meat is cooked, add both jars of pasta sauce and simmer on medium low until meat sauce begins to bubble.
Add a block of cream cheese to the meat sauce and continue to simmer on medium low while stirring until the cream cheese is fully dissolved into the meat sauce.
Pour meat sauce over cooked spaghetti noodles and stir in one cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
Pour everything into a large casserole dish and top with remaining shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake at 350 or until the cheese is fully melted and lightly browned.
