Serves: 12

Ingredients: 

Cake:

  • 1 (18.25-ounce) box chocolate cake mix

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Filling:

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 (16-ounce) box confectioners’ sugar

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Spray a 13x9” baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, beat cake mix, egg, and 1/2 cup melted butter until combined.

  3. Press into the bottom of pan and set aside.

  4. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.

  5. Add eggs, beating until smooth.

  6. Slowly add confectioners’ sugar, beating well.

  7. Slowly add the remaining 1/2 cup melted butter, mixing well.

  8. Pour evenly over cake mixture.

  9. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until the center is slightly set.

  10. Let cool completely and cut into squares to serve with a dollop of whipped cream (optional).
