MawMaw’s Real Southern Brown Gravy

Ingredients:

¼ cup pan drippings
¼ cup flour (I prefer Adluh or White Lilly)
2.5 cups of turkey broth (chicken or beef broth may be substituted depending on your meat)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper

Instructions:

  1. Combine pan drippings and flour together in sauce pan and place on medium heat.

  2. Stir until a paste forms.

  3. Continue to stir until desired brownness is reached.

  4. Add broth, salt and pepper and continue to stir.

  5. Stir until desired thickness has been achieved and gravy is smooth.

*TIP: Turkey broth creates the most delish gravy in my opinion but any broth can be used.

  6. Serve over mashed potatoes or rice.
