I believe my Daddy’s favorite meal is a pot of beans or peas over rice. Our friends in the great state of Kentucky call them soup beans. I call them delicious. This Lima Beans and Ham slow cooker recipe is a no fuss recipe that you can set and forget.

Total Time: 8 hours 5 minutes

Yield: Serves 8

Sunday in SC Lima Beans and Ham

Ingredients:

1 smoked ham hock 
1½ tsp salt 
½ tsp pepper 
1 tbs Goya Chicken Bouillon (powdered) 
10 cups water 
1 package (1lb) dried lima beans 

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a large slow cooker.

  2. Cook on low for 8 hours.

  3. Remove ham hock from slow cooker, remove ham from bone and shred, return ham to slow cooker and discard bone.

  4. Serve as a side dish or as a main course over white rice.
