Southern Pecan Pie

Cook Time: 40 minutes
Set Time: 2 hours
Total Time: 2 hours 55 minutes

Ingredients:
1 Frozen Pillsbury Deep Dish Pie Crust 
1 1/2 cups pecan halves
3 eggs
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup light corn syrup
⅓ cup melted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. In a medium mixing bowl, beat brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, salt and eggs with a whisk or hand mixer until combined.

  3. Fold in pecans and pour mixture into frozen pie crust. 

  4. Bake for 20 minutes at 375 degrees F. 

  5. Remove from the oven, cover pie crust edges with strips of aluminum foil to prevent the crust from over browning. 

  6. Return to oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes. 

  7. Remove pie from oven and cool for 30 minutes.

  8. Then, place pie in refrigerator for 2 hours to set. 

  9. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
